Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale (born on April 2, 1985) is an American professional basketball player. She plays for Dallas Wings and the Women's National Basketball Association. Arike Ogunbowale played college basketball with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish before being drafted to the Wings as a fifth overall pick in the 2019 WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale was born on the 2nd of March in 1997 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. There are two brothers: Mario (26 and 26 years young) and Dare Ogunbowale (20 years old). As the youngest of her siblings she was the one who was most spoilt by her parents. Gregory, her father, was serving in the Nigerian Army quite a while. Ogunbowale grew up in a busy family. She has a brother named Dare is a football player and her mother Yolanda was a softball player at DePaul. She played for her aunt in volleyball at UAPB as well as Endia is a volleyball player on the team at Tennessee State. Her name was listed in the honor roll of her high school for three consecutive years. Alongside her fame, she has received various awards from her schooling. Arike graduated from Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in her hometown. She played three varsity season while she studied there. Ogunbowale led her school to stunning victories with her extraordinary skills numerous times. High schooler Ogunbowale has made an appearance in 73 games and has accumulated 1,477 rebounds and 1,477 rebounds throughout her playing career. Ogunbowale was a participant during her first 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship and won Gold medals there. In July 2014 she was picked to be a member of the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale, who is playing her first season at a collegiate level she was selected as the ACC All-Freshman Team. She was even congratulated by Kobe Bryant.
