April Lockhart
April Lockhart is a born July 4, 1995. At the age of seven she started to take guitar lessons and piano lessons. The lessons ignited her interest to write songs. April Lockhart wrote her first song, Different at age of twelve. She spent a lot of the time of 14 writing songs and practicing music. She began writing with her dad on the streets of NY and LA just a few months later. April began including other topics in the book, Take My Hand, for her pals who were struggling with peer pressure, disabilities or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart has her own fanbase and works as a lifestyle blogger under the well-known Ilia Pure Beauty brand. Lockhart was born without a hand on her left side and it's part of who she's become, but that's not the entire story. Lockhart's profile on Instagram doesn't cover up her disability, but it does not focus solely on the condition. What's the message? It is not just our physical self. Our identities are intricate and include a myriad of elements. I do not want this to determine me. I do not want to become a disability advocate where that's all I talk about as there are numerous other aspects of me Lockhart shares her thoughts via video from her house in Nashville. My day-today life is not directly affected by disability. I just live my normal, everyday life and find myself solutions for problems. Since it's part of me personally It's an issue worth discussing. The journey of self-acceptance that Lockhart has taken will be one that lasts a lifetime, but she has been a source of inspiration for this purpose. She admits that she's been through phases of her body at times not being confident in wearing certain kinds of clothing which showed off the arms of her. She wears whatever she wants and proudly posts pictures of herself dressed in outfits she chooses on social media. This is a long journey. one thing I'm not aware of when you will arrive, her self-love statement. It's a long journey. I'm not convinced that you will ever reach your destination. Your people with that truly understand you and who can look into your heart, are those who remind you why it's important.
